MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Saturday, December 25, 2010

A photo of the Helix Bridge I took a few evenings ago as I took a walk from MBLM to Millenia Walk. Yes, it was a long walk but it was a cool evening. I rather enjoyed the walk. :-)

See the Singapore Flyer in the background on the right?  I am quite proud of this photo taken with my free Samsung mobile phone's built in 5 megapixel camera. ;-p

Merry Christmas to one and all!

Hi AK71,
I notice you can take quite great pictures with just your Samsung 5 mega pixel phone's camera. Is photography one of your hobby? Can give some tips or not?
Ha! Ha!
Cheers & Merry Christmas.

Hi Temperament,

I think you could be right. I enjoy taking photos and I am always snapping away whenever I travel especially after being given an IXUS 3 years ago.

I adopted digital photography only a few years ago, as you can imagine. I was still loading film not so long ago. I am a slow one in many things. ;p

Tips? Just point and shoot but I do take some time to frame a shot properly. That's about all. Sorry to disappoint. Haha... Merry Christmas. :)

Hi AK71,
I think you are being modest.
But I think there is some truth in what you said. It's very hard to teach someone to have a "photographic eyes" exactly like yours.
Even if you can teach me, most probably my eyes will see differently when at the time of taking a picture.
Ha! Ha! Stupid me!
Maybe that's why, they say, "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholders"
Cheers and Happy New Year too!

Hi Temperament,

I doubt it has much to do with talent, if that's what you mean. ;)

If we were using film cameras, we would be very careful to frame every shot nicely. Every shot taken would be irrevocable. Every shot taken would cost 30c to develop. So, I guess taking more time to frame a shot properly came with such practical considerations then. Old habits die hard. ;p

Having said all this, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Well said. :D

Hi AK71,
I see what you mean.
Just have to practise more to improve.
After all it's digital photography.
We can reformat and retake.
But really some of your posted pictures are really nice.
Like your Helix bridge.
But I think first I must upgrade my hand-phone to a good camera hand-phone.
The idea is to take pictures as and when you see something "nice"-anytime.
Ha! Ha!
No good camera-hand-phone no talk.
By the way what's your camera-hand-phone model? What's the maximum erasible memory's capacity?
If not too expensive I may get one.
Thanks.

Hi Temperament,

Yes, we are lucky indeed to have digital cameras. I remember the days when a 1.3 megapixel digital camera cost about $700! I refused to pay so much money for a camera and stuck to my trusty Pentax film camera. Haha..

I have absolutely no idea what is the model of my Samsung phone. It was given to me slightly more than a year ago. My sister got it free when she re-contracted and gave it to me. It just says 5.0 MEGA AUTO FOCUS on the back. As for the specs, I just use the phone and don't know much else.

Happy shooting. :)

I am waiting for my re-contract liu.
Thanks.

Hi Temperament,

This phone is probably no longer available. There will probably be better ones available now. I think Samsung products are generally OK. Happy shopping. ;)
