My weaknesses (Part 2).

Saturday, October 29, 2011

Not too long ago, I indulged in one of my weaknesses... on two occasions... at Andersen's of Denmark.

Visit 1: Fondue for one. I chose this because there were bits of fruits and being the rational me who is trying to lead a healthier lifestyle, it was a healthier choice. Wait a minute, a healthier choice in an ice cream outlet? Hmmm... Nah, I am over-analysing. Healthier, it is! ;p

Visit 2: Apple pie! An apple a day keeps the doctor away. I am sure a slice of apple pie would do the trick too, right? Why am I not saying anything about the ice cream? Oh, the two scoops of ice cream were just accompaniments and, honestly, I did not touch the big dollop of fresh cream you see on the extreme left. Healthier choice, remember? ;p

In a pretty crowded scene which Swensen's probably has an advantage as being the most entrenched player and Haagen Daz has the honour of being probably the most atas, Andersen's has been doing pretty good business if my observations are anything to go by.

Good Morning AK,

2 days ago, I had a full fat icecream with peanut butter and chocolate fudge. A total sin.

Fruits with ice cream is indeed a healthier choice. Not only it taste better, it sounds better and feels better too. It is a healthier choice. Much healthier. haha.

Hi Jared,

Thank you for agreeing with my "healthier" choice! :D

AK,

Reminds me of a joke where a true blue carnivore eating a big piece of steak claims that he is only eating a "vegetarian" dish because the cow is a vegetarian.

Hi Skipper,

Haha.. Well, that is the power of rationalisation, is it not? ;)

Hi ak,

I always preferred Anderson over the rest. My favourite being the mint and the cookies n cream :p

Hi LP,

I went to Andersen's because I was given some vouchers and could eat for free. I really don't have a preference but I can tell good from bad ice cream. Andersen's good! Slurp!

I had mint and cookies and cream the last time too. Yummy! :)

To be honest with everyone, I do not really know the difference between the ice cream from Swensen, Anderson or Haagen Daaz as I enjoy all , though I eat ice cream only once in a while.
In fact, I still remember I enjoyed the 20 cent cheap Lion stick ice cream as a small boy...
Similarly, I love durians, be it D24 or Cat Mountain King, seriously I love any as long as it suits my taste....simple to satisfy.

Wish it is a blessing. I remember a story when a depressed adult asked a young boy what brings him happiness. The young boy simple replied making and flying his own kite, which I used to do. Sadly, think kid nowadays will not be thrilled simply doing that. Human beings getting more sophisticated??
I will stick with life's simple pleasures...any ice cream will make me happy but I don't indulge.

Hi financialray,

I have eaten some really bad ice cream before. Those you named are all good ones. Haha.. I think King's is quite bad. Yucks. Should be renamed Pawn's. ;p

I am also one for simple pleasures in life. I remember using my imagination and whatever I could find at home as a child and made my own games. Didn't have a personal computer and definitely no internet. Memories.
