Wednesday, October 12, 2011

I would like to share this fairy tale (which could be a reality for some of us):

Thanks to a cboxer, Patty, for sharing this with me.

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. ;-p

Unfortunately, my fairy tale ended when she said, "Yes".

:'(

Hi Patty,

More accurately, part one of your fairy tale ended and part two started. I believe yours is a trilogy. ;p

At least it isn't a nightmare! ;)

Hi AK71,
Some people are just not the marrying kind. Hopefully they tango only with the same kind. In this modern time, it's very easy. Though not legally married can live together without real obligations to anybody.(No children please).
Cheers!

Hi Temperament,

Yes, we are living in a more liberal era. Cohabit? Sure, why not? ;)

Children? Must be very careful. ;p

I say yes... and my fairy tale went haywire!!!

Hi Kappo,

Perhaps, you could try re-wiring it. ;)

Mark likes this. :)

My mom once told me - If you dont intend to have children, then what is the point of getting married?

5 years down the road, she has clearly changed her mind about it..

Yes,
when you are not into a relationship or marriage, you do enjoy a lot of freedom.

when you are into marriage, ask not what you can gain from the relationship but see what you can give. It is only then that you will discover this special thing called "LOVE" when you give and expect nothing in return. You will think I am getting cliched, but when you have kids of your own, you will understand this feeling which no amount of money can buy.
Ask Jim Rogers.

interesting. but I will leave that loooong discussion to something I'd say over a beer or so.

for me, strictly No-Kids.

Hi Mark,

Well, the one constant in life is change. Haha.. Feeling the pressure, eh? ;p

Hi financialray,

It is still possible to love someone without having to marry the person. Marriage is, after all, a human invention.

I remember telling my students before that it is just a social institution and we have many such institutions. ;p

Hi SnOOpy168,

Personally, this is not something I enjoy talking about very much. I have my share of "caring" questions from relatives on why I would prefer not to marry. Hahaha.. ;)

Hi AK71 & all,
Single? Married? Ask me again, me 100% stay single, too bad, maybe my next life! Too many issues, not just 2 of you, involved 2 families.... kids another huge responsibility. Always tell my kid dating is the best, no everlasting love. I WANT TO BE SINGLE!!!

same here AK. Perhaps those relatives are trying to get positive ROI from all the ang pow $ they gave.

Well, these days, i dun mind whats in the red packet. Becoz I got so tired of these same old questions and attempt to match-make, that I had gone on CNY holidays overseas. Why squeeze with everyone else.

AK71 said...

Hi JO,

I guess you said "yes" many years ago? ;)

My uncle's wife told me that if she gets to choose again, she would say "no" too. Haha.. ;p

AK71 said...

Hi SnOOpy168,

Yup, that is what I have been doing, bi nian. Haha ;)

Hello not only you, ha ha.. me bi nian too, every year, on holiday. Same old story: single>when married? married>when baby? 1st kid>when 2nd kid? on & on ...... may be last question when die? Just work hard, play hard & most importantly LOVE YOURSELF! Cheers!

Hi JO,

I am sure the questions are endless! I wonder why people are so kaypoh. Of course, they will say that they are being concerned. Kaypoh and concerned, any difference? I wonder. ;)
