Rich gets richer and poor gets poorer.

Thursday, July 18, 2013

Point #1

Someone might have more money than another. He is simply richer. It doesn't mean that he is rich.

Someone might have less money than another. He is simply poorer. It doesn't mean that he is poor.

Compared to the needy, most of us are very fortunate.

Point #2

Instead of lamenting how some people are getting richer, try to understand what they are doing to become richer. Unless seriously disadvantaged, anyone can become richer.

If we want it badly enough, we will make it happen!

只要功夫深,铁杆磨成针.

Hi AK,

The perspective of wealth and poverty depends on what one’s baseline is.

曾经沧海难为水,除却巫山不是云。

The have and the have-nots will have entirely different takes.

How much richer should the rich become?

物极必反,该如何是好?:P

You can get rich by profiteering, that's one way.;) You can also get rich by selling shark fins, causing a mass extinction of the biodiversity. You can get rich by selling tobacco, causing cancers. You can also get rich by renting out your condo to prostitutes. You can also get rich by selling Lehman brothers products, or opening gambling dens. You can also get rich by hiring cheap foreigners, causing locals to be jobless.
There are so many ways indeed. It is whether you want or not.

Hi Endrene,

Indeed so. How rich do we want to be?

I wrote a piece last year:
Becoming richer: Need or want?

This is something I strongly believe in. :)

Hi AK,

Had a bad day? What's the pointers for?

Hi LP,

You are so sharp!

Short blog post inspired by someone I talked to today. Sigh.

Feeling very drained but yet I am trying to muster enough energy to do a pep talk. I don't know when to quit.

Hi AK,

You do sound that you feel tired. Take a break and enjoy life. :)

On your blog post, I do think that it is possible to become rich. Its whether we want or not. Or I should say whether its a must to become rich or a wish only? Many people wish to become rich but wishing without action will not bring us anywhere.

Hi SG Young Investment,

Wow! It was that obvious? LOL.

I am suffering from some malaise recently. I think it could be that there are just too many things happening at the same time and not all of them pleasant.

Hi ak,

You talk more when you are happy and less when you're not. This article you posted is curt and short, no rhetorical questions, no smileys. So I think you're either tired or having a bad day. Which means you shouldn't blog.

Don't get burnt out :)

Hi Cory,

I don't know. Maybe so. Crisis? Perhaps. Are you sure? Hmmm... I will have to chew on this...

Hi LP,

You are right. I think I will try to have an early night. Try. :)

Hi AK,

Hug your bolster and your bolster hugs you back, okie? *HUG*

:D Cheer up. Nothing's too big deal to fret over.

Yes, listen to LP. Don't tire out, sleep early. Remember to smile at your bolster before you sleep. :)

Hi Endrene,

Thanks but watching the Minions on YouTube is cheering me up. Really funny! LOL! :)

AK,

Sweet dreams. Have a good night's sleep.

Tomorrow is a brand new day!

By the way, my facilitator told me during my training as a coach that I must be mindful I don't take ownership of other people's problem.

I think they share that to social workers too.

Hi SMOL,

I hope I sleep a dreamless sleep.

Another day of challenges await me tomorrow. LOL.

Kamsiah for the advice. ;)

maybe we should compare who is happier, calmer, kinder...

sorry... out of place.. :)

AK71 said...

Hi Anic,

It would be nice if everyone should be happier, calmer and kinder. No comparison needed. ;)

AK71 said...

Hi coconut,

I need a long break from everything, I feel. Would be nice if I could drop everything and go spend time on Mt. Wudang for a few months. :)

coconut said...

AK! exactly opposite of what i was thinking!

coconut said...

at this state, if you go wudang, you probably would not want to come back haha..

The beach do wonders for Me when I need to recharge . Although they are full of container ships, the east coast stretch nearer to changi offer better view . Then hop on a taxi to changi point hawker for the famous nasi lemak or chicken chop Ipoh hor fun. Then get a traditional desert of almond Logan . When u are full, take a walk down changi road, it's quiet and take a bus when u are tired of walking walking take care

Hi silly investor,

Thanks for sharing your relaxation tips. I appreciate it. :)

I much prefer the mountains but we don't have these in Singapore. So, the beach is a good alternative I guess. ;)
