ASSI turns four! Merry Christmas!

Tuesday, December 24, 2013

My plane landed in Singapore at 5am this morning. Still in need of sleep. Yawn.

I took naps and unpacked. Will have to catch up with my emails, readings and blogging. Will also have to get up to speed with work when I return to the office on Boxing Day. Groan.

Today, ASSI also turns 4! Time really does fly!

Here are some photos I took on my vacation:

Luz Shinsaibashi in Osaka by night.

Very early on a Sunday morning!
Weather in Osaka? Brrrr.... but a nice change from Singapore.

OK, a couple of photos to bring in some festive cheer:

In an underground mall in Osaka.
Pretty lights in Kyoto.

In a mall in Kobe.

Merry Christmas!

Hi Cybertoots,

While I hope to continue blogging, I do not think of myself as a coach. Yikes! -.-"

Merry Christmas and Happy 2014! :)

Hi B,

2020 is 7 years away! OK, 6 since 2014 is just 1 week away. ;p

The Japanese Yen is so cheap now. So, why not take a break next year? ;)

I took some photos of pigeons in the city and gulls at Kobe harbour. Maybe, I will upload them since you have an interest in bird watching. :)

Hi AK,

I see one of the malls you have a share in. Haha. It seems like a cool holiday. I hope to go to Japan too. Merry Christmas and happy boxing day!

AK71 said...

Hi SGYI,

I also saw a building that belongs to Frasers. Apartments.
In addition, I saw a warehouse the belongs to Global Logistics but that was on the way to the airport. :)

Japan is attracting plenty of interest from investors globally. I am feeling somewhat optimistic about the country's prospects. Still very much work in progress. Mr. Abe will have to continue hitting all the right buttons.

I am back at work today. I am total swamped! Now, having an early lunch break. I didn't have time to take my tea break this morning. :(

Merry Christmas! :)

Can we expect a writeup on the Malls of CRT soon? =)

AK71 said...

Hi Kelvin,

I only visited one of their 4 malls. So, won't be doing a write up. ;)

Their other 3 malls are not in big city centres like this one. Their main tenant in those malls is AEON which is very big in Japan.

On my train rides to Kobe and Kyoto, I saw so many malls along the way with the word "AEON" prominently displayed.

I feel that Croesus Retail Trust provides great income visibility and at current price level, it provides a fairly good deal to anyone who is investing for income. :)

Hi AK,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hi AK,

I'm feeling optimistic on Japan's economy too. Its time for the sleeping giant to wake up :p

Another trust that has relative exposure to Japan is Mapletree logistics trust. 24% of their net property income comes from Japan. You may want to take a look at it ;)

Work must be really a lot for you. I'm sure you are able to work better now after your holidays! Don't forget to rest and have fun. It's holiday season afterall.

Hi Little Boy,

A more appropriate name might be "Young Man" since you are 21 years old. ;)

Always pleased to see young people embarking on a journey towards financial freedom. :)

Merry Christmas and a Happy 2014!

Hi SGYI,

MLT? It still has a huge exposure to industrial properties in Singapore which I am relatively cautious of going forward. So, I will pass on this for now. Thanks for the heads up though. :)

In the meantime, if Saizen REIT or Croesus Retail Trust should suffer some inexplicable declines in unit prices, I will probably be adding to my long positions. ;)

I am grateful for AK's sharing and replies.

ASSI has guided and helped me a lot in the initial days of my investment journey.

Hoped that he/she will continue to share investment insights and analysis for our benefits.

AK71 said...

Hi SnOOpy168,

Yikes! He/she? I have become androgynous. LOL. ;p

I am glad that you discovered my blog very early on because that was when the maximum benefits could be reaped with regards to some strategies in investing which I blogged about.

I will continue to blog but probably with lesser intensity. If I should have a good idea to share, you can still bet on me blogging about it. :)

Thanks for the encouragement. :)
