A dollar saved is a dollar earned.

Monday, March 23, 2015

I was chatting with a fellow blogger recently on FB and he says he enjoys saving $1 coins:

And I told him I do too. So, here are never seen before images of AK's pouch of $1 coins (and I only keep the old ones which I like more than the new ones):

Saving is a habit. No matter how little we save. If we do it regularly, it does add up.

Some friends were surprised at what I would do to save $1 before: Queue for S$1.00 parking fee redemption?

Remember what is the very first step to becoming richer? Clue.

I beg to differ ;). One Dollar saved is two dollars earned. We return some % in taxes, necessary spending so in essence the 'earned' value is much higher. May be one and half dollar in Singapore (thanks to the pragmatism of leaders), and two dollars in other welfare states.

To reach $1 million. Consider $1 save as 1 step taken. You will walk will million steps to reach your milion dollars. One stap at a time. Someday more steps, more day less steps. Ths is how I view my objective.

Hi Komatineni,

I like the idea of saving one dollar and earning more than a dollar! Would you like to elaborate on this? :)

Hi Siew Mun,

Yes, every journey starts with the first step, doesn't it? Keep putting one foot in front of the other and before we know it, we would have walked 1 million steps! You are an inspiration to all parents in Singapore. Thank you. :)
