Another fantastic buy! Don't say AK bo jio! (Buy potato chips or blue chips when marked down.)

UPDATE (7 SEP 17):
I simply love dark chocolate.

Made in Belgium.

It is super smooth and tastes soooo good.

Price: $1.00 per bar

Yup. This makes it taste even better!

Where to get this?

Scroll to the end of this blog for the address.

Don't say AK bo jio.

----------
Many know that I have a weakness for chocolates and ice cream. Without chocolates and ice cream, I think life is not worth living. To me, they are like an essential food group.

There is something else that I like but not to as big a degree. Potato chips. Specifically, Pringles potato chips.

Some might remember how I would eat Pringles potato chips with baked beans, eating them like horderves.

OK, if you must be very French about it, hors d'oeuvre).

As I have been avoiding beans in my diet in recent months, I eat potato chips with fried eggs or tuna flakes these days. Yup horderves again.

When I went to Japan for vacations, I would buy their Pringles potato chips because they taste better than the ones we have here. The texture is smoother and the taste is less salty.

They are also available here in Isetan, Meidi-ya and some specialty shops but they are pretty pricey, as you can imagine.

Recently, however, I discovered that I could buy them really cheaply somewhere in Singapore and what did I do?

Price?

50 cents per can.

Really?

Really!

Not joking?

Nope.

Where to buy this?

They are selling fast and I am wondering if I should buy more.

If you want to get some, better be fast hands, fast legs. OK, you better be faster than AK.

What? Where exactly in Bedok?

Er...

OK, I tell you (reluctantly):

Don't say AK bo jio.

Hi AK,

Thanks for sharing, I love potato chips too!

Are there any other flavours available besides sour cream and how long do you think your bulk purchase can last you? Any idea on the expiration date too?

Cheers!

Hi Kevin,

Only sour cream available which is OK for me because it is my favourite flavour.

Expiry date: Feb 2017.

What I bought should last me 4 or 5 months. Yeah!

Hi Bakri,

Unfortunately, I enjoy my junk food. :(

So, if I can get them cheaper, small consolation lah. ;p

Actually, I have cut down a lot on junk food in the last 9 months and will continue to do so but I doubt it can ever become zero junk food for me. :)

Hi TT,

Hamsters hoard potato chips? I thought they hoard nuts and seeds which I do too when I see them selling at marked down prices. Er... OK, I hamster. -.-"

My stockpile should last me 4 to 5 months. Half a can or so a day. ;p

No need to cheong, still got alot left. I just bought 3 cans and they are indeed lighter in taste without compromising on flavor.

Hi Philip,

Still plenty left? I think I shall make another trip to buy more. I have given away a carton to my mom and she likes it too. :)

Hi Unknown,

I checked the TPY and PP branches but they don't have this item. Don't know about the other branches. If you know of any other branches that sell this, do share. :)

Philip said...

Hi Uncle AK, yes still a lot left. The items they sell are inconsistent across their outlets actually. So what you can get in Bedok need not be found in other branches. For F&B stuff, Bedok has the widest range.

Hi Philip,

Uncle? Unless you are in your teens, you don't have the right to call me uncle, ok?

I am going to my quiet corner to do some crying now...

....................................

OK, done crying.

Yes, I like the Bedok branch the most! Quite lucky that it is a short drive for me. :)

I just bought at the Valuedollar Bendemeer branch for 50 cents, but it is a closing down sale. Better hurry if anyone is interested. The Valuedollar near my place is selling at 80 cents.

Hi Unknown,

Wah! 80c!

That is a 60% increase in price!

Hi, these are all highly processed food. Take care of your health, do not eat all these empty/naked carbo which SPIKE UP your blood sugar. Just a word of advice.

They are not cheap once you consider all the medical fee as you will be diabetic (with all the empty carbo) sooner or later by consuming all these.

AK71 said...

Hi Phoenix,

Not to worry. My carb intake is pretty low these days. :)

Hi AK,

I wonder if you have tried the NTUC Fairprice brand potato chips (Original flavour) that comes in blue plastic package. Currently selling at $1.10(80g). It is softer and has low sodium level.

AK71 said...

Hi Unknown,

I bought NTUC Fairprice brand potato chips before. I didn't like them as much. Taste is very personal, I guess. Thanks for sharing. :)
