Singapore Police Force - Recruitment.

One thing which most friends and relatives don't know about me is that I wanted to join the Singapore Police Force when I was much younger but my medical status meant that it was a no go. With my degree, I would have been an ASP right away.

Till today, sometimes, I still wonder how I would have turned out as a person if I was accepted.

Anyway, if you are considering a career and if you are a person who values courage, loyalty, integrity and fairness, a career in the Singapore Police Force might just be what you are looking for.

  1. Police is a one of the very noble job out there. I admire policeman a lot. Having said that, if my children one day said that he is going to be a policeman, I would shiver and probably not allow him.

  2. Hi B,

With a good honours degree, the starting pay is almost $4,000 a month. It is not too bad, I feel.

If children have noble ambitions, we should encourage them, shouldn't we? ;)

  3. Hey HK,

Being a police officer was one of my ambitions too!

But when I did a mid-career switch, I decided that teaching children would make a happier career. :)

To have the best of both worlds, I contemplated being a VSC - Volunteer Special Constable. I had a friend who resigned from the Police Force but continued to be a volunteer. But then, workload as a teacher was no joke and I was given the privilege to 'police' the kids as a DM. So I thought since it was sort of like two dreams come true in a single job, I'd just leave it as that. :D

Sometimes I wonder too, what it would have been like if I'd become a policewoman. For one, I would probably have a lot more savings cos I'll get free uniform. I'll probably have a pixie cut (super short hair) instead of the mop head I'm now keeping. There would be no chance to buy and use 70 pairs of shoes and the numerous handbags. My house would have been very spacious! :P

Hmm...talking about fashion gets to my impulses. I spotted a nice jacket at Zara yesterday. Shall chiong down afterwards to make it mine! This is what I called 'delayed gratification' hor. Hahaha.

So heng I never become policewoman lor! :P

You have a good weekend. Maybe you should go out to buy some happiness too. It's GSS! :D

    Cheers,
    Endrene

  5. Hi Endrene,

Has GSS started? I am never in the know about these things. Hahaha...

Well, you are right. When we wear uniforms to work, we save quite a bit of money. Clothing provided by employers. I like. It also saves us the headache of wondering which outfit is nicer or more suitable everyday. ;p

I hope all of us will end up happier doing whatever we decide to do. Be happy. That is the most important thing. :)

  6. Hi Endrene,

Who is HK? Who? Who? I am so jealous!

Where is my parang? Time to go on a man hunt!

    ;p

Actually, if you didn't say, I wouldn't have noticed. I am becoming blur in my old age.

Now, I wonder if I should change my name from Aaron Kwok to Henry Kwok. ;p

  10. Hi seefei,

The GSS you are referring to, I really don't know if it would happen. ;)

Seriously, who knows if this is the start of a new bull market? The STI has been forming higher highs, after all.

When there are many who still do not believe in a rally, then, the bull could have legs.
