When I was in Japan in December of 2011, the Japanese Yen was S$16 to JPY 1,000. Today, it is S$12.50 to JPY1,000. This is good news for anyone who likes Japanese goods!
If you enjoy finding great deals in Japan, there is some good news!

Some of the merchants on Rakuten might not speak English so it can be a little bit tricky although I can definitely say the experience is always good and they will try very hard to communicate with you. That お客様は神様です (customer is god) kind of experience can be felt even through buying online.
ReplyDeleteI have 4 sets of jinbei (甚平, Japanese summer clothing that is also used as bathrobes or PJs) bought on Rakuten and they are made with real hemp. Only $16 for a set!
Hi Patty,
ReplyDelete$16? That is not value for money. That's a steal!
I have always enjoyed my trips to Japan and enjoyed the trips made when the Japanese Yen was S$13 to JPY1,000 even more. :D
My last trip in 2011 was 25% more painful on the pocket but I still enjoyed it. :)
