I like Hainanese pork chop rice. I know there are two versions: with curry or with tomato sauce watered down. This one at Redhill Market (supposedly a branch of a famous stall in Chinatown) sells the former while I know quite a few hotel cafes serve the latter.
Pork chop (very yummy), chap chye (stewed vegetable) and a hor pau dan (sunny side up, Chinese style) on steamed rice drenched in curry! Price: S$2.50.

yummy it looks but converted to Malaysian currency, its pretty pricey.
Looks very good. Price is so good too! Feeling hungry now.... hehe
oh yea, you should try the one near my house too, at Sembawang hills food center.
The curry is SUPER tok kong.
Hi AK,
you tempted me to go supper now :p Do you know the opening hour? is it the market near redhill mrt?
Hi Nava Krishnan,
Oh, try not to think of it in terms of RM. ;p
Hi Isaac,
Yup, this is the least expensive Hainanese Curry Pork Chop rice I have come across. There is another stall in the same market selling the same thing for $2.70.
Sembawang Hills? I have been there once before with my family. Not too convenient a location for me but if someone is buying, I think I might be able to find the time. Haha.. Kidding. ;)
Hi ortho,
I think most of the stalls there are closed or closing by 9pm. I would usually go before 7pm for dinner.
Yes, you guess correctly. This is the market closest to Redhill MRT station. :)
Hey AK,
heard the portion they give is quite little. but yeah, looks nice. :)
Hi CJ,
Yup, it was economical in price and portion. ;)
I guess it could be a good thing for a dieting me. ;-p
Toa Payoh Entertainment Centre has a shop that sells pork chop curry rice too! Comes with a jelly tea for $4.90.
Hi Hwang,
Thanks for sharing this. $4.90? The jelly tea has to be very good as it costs as much as the rice. ;)
