Cabernet Sauvignon (and beer).

This is my favourite wine as it is inexpensive and very drinkable. If I remember correctly, it costs about $14 a bottle at NTUC Fairprice:

I would have some wine once in a while but it would take me three nights to finish a bottle as I am not in the habit of having wine every night. So, often, I would have some leftover which I would have to throw away which is a pity. Here's the first glass I poured tonight:

Red wine is good for the heart and, of course, it warms up the body like all alcoholic beverages. It also promotes better sleep quality and I know I am in need of this recently.

Tonight, I drank more than I would usually. Only half a bottle left. I have stoppered what's left and, hopefully, I would be in the mood to finish it tomorrow night.

Cheers!

Hi AK,

Next time can ask me to join in, haha :) I can probably help you finish in a chatting session. Wine is meant to be shared with others :)

Hi LP,

I usually drink wine when I am feeling some stress and a need to be retrospective. Haha.. It's a me time. ;)

You are right though. Wine is meant to be shared. :)

Hmmmm..... I don't drink, don't smoke, don't gamble. Lucky I still got one vice left. LOL!

How to fake it in bars? I order apple juice to make it look like beer.

Or Ribena to look like red wine. You should see the bartender's face!

Hi Isaac,

Do you want the red wine to stay close to you or do you want me to stay close to you. Probably the former ... ;p

Hi pero,

I have always been a wine drinker although not a regular one. Wine is definitely not a big expense item for me. ;)

If you are allergic to alcohol, you should stay away from it. Not good to activate the reactions. Haha.. :)

Hi Anonymous,

沒那麼簡單? Thanks for the link. Listening to the song now. ;)

I think I am a simple soul but it is subjective, I guess. :)

Could you include your name or initials in future comments? Thanks.

Hi CW,

Wah! That must have been a sight. Haha.. Don't think that's my glass of wine (aka cup of tea). Haha... I don't know about LP though. ;p

Thanks for sharing the link. :)

AK,

There is a simple way to keep the unfinished wine. Get 2 to 3 of the 187 ml small bottles of wine. When you open a 750ml bottle, you can still keep the rest in the 187 ml bottles, cap it and keep in the fridge. Leave as little airspace as possible in the small bottle. This is to minimise oxygen in the bottle from oxidising the wine. You can keep the wine for one to two weeks without it going stale. ( I have kept it up to a month before.)
It is also much cheaper that getting the vacuum or nitrogen stuff.

Hi Li,

This is new to me. Thank you for the sharing this very useful idea. :)

In the meantime, I will try to finish what is left of this bottle this evening. ;)

Haha, I know my limit.. :D
I can take up to 1 pint of beer without the reaction getting too unreasonable.. haha...
A bottle of wine can easily cover 2-3 days expenses :D

Hi pero,

If it makes you happy and if it is not going to sink you in debt or cause any health problems, why not? :)

Life's little pleasures. ;)

if you are drinking this wine, in Singapore's "Room Temperature" then you are drinking it wrong and wasting a good bottle here. Should be chilled to between 10 - 18degC (ang moh's drink and their home's room temp is around this range too)

PS: Wines & Beer in HK are duty free, where a decent bottle can cost around S$8 - 12.

Blurb.

Hi SnOOpy168,

I store it at about 16 degrees Celsius. So, I am drinking it at the right temperature, I guess? Haha.. Thanks for sharing. :)

AK,

By the way, forgot to add that if you know you cannot finish the whole bottle, fill up the small bottles first immediately after you open the big bottle. This way, the wine is exposed to air for as short a time as possible before you cap the small bottles. It's less effective to keep them in the small bottles once they are opened for an hour or so.

Your suggestion makes perfect sense. Thank you so much. :-)
