I have been reading up on insurance, especially Mr Tan Kin Lian's blog and noticed that he discourages the purchasing of term insurance. May I know what kind of insurance policy do you recommend or you have gotten for yourself?

I am not qualified to recommend what kind of insurance policies anyone should be getting. ;p
Just sharing what I have here: I have whole life policies, endowment policies, critical illness and hospitalisation policies.
Basically, insurance do two things for me. They would benefit my loved ones if I should pass on and if I should live on, they would benefit me. However, the main reason for being insured is so that I won't become a burden to anyone in case something bad happens to me.
I believe that if anyone buys insurance policies keeping this in mind, he cannot go wrong.

I looked at it some time ago when I was deciding which F&B company to invest in. In the end, I chose Old Chang Kee.
Breadtalk's margins are super thin. So, I decided to give it a miss.
perhaps in lieu of dividends, they will give curry purf or roti (at store price) instead. Hahahah.
