Plastic hazard in cup noodles!

Friday, May 17, 2013

I bought some Myojo brand cup noodles recently because NTUC Fairprice had a sale. It was $1.30 or $1.40 for two. Cannot remember exactly.

Anyway, in case you buy this, WARNING, do not pour hot water into the container as per usual practice! The smell of plastic was so strong that it was unbearable!

I quickly poured the hot water and noodles into my trusty Tupperware container which I use to bring oatmeal from home everyday. If I didn't have an alternative container close at hand, I would probably have thrown away the noodles, dissolved plastic and all.

No prizes for guessing what I had for breakfast and lunch today. Oh, I also had some very nice cake my sister baked which was a treat!

Myojo noodles are good. I prefer them to Maggi but the use of cheap plastic is really damaging and in more ways than one! Instant noodles lovers, please take heed!

Hi Endrene,

How did you know I bought more insurance? Am I so easy to read? Hahaha... ;p

I bought a 10 year term insurance on my life to cover the mortgage of my hut in the sky. In case I go kaput during that time, my family get a free hut.

OK, I hear you. No more Myojo cup noodles. In fact, I gave away the remaining 3 cups to a colleague yesterday. She says her kids like them. I did tell her not to pour hot water into the cups but to transfer the contents into a proper bowl before cooking. The plastic is really bad.

I hope SMOL is reading this because he is an instant noodles fan! :)

AK,

This is almost as bad as smoking. Those who smoke know it is bad for them but still carry on anyway.

If you still want to indulge instant noodles, at least use a metal or porcelain container and not plastic.

Hi Matt,

Yikes! You are comparing instant noodles to cigarettes? That is really scary!

OK, I hear you and I agree with you. No more! For a while anyway. ;p

AK, don't eat so much instant noodle.
Although can save some money, but it is not worth.
Try to think when you are old, if eat unhealthy now, u need more money for medicine in future.

Hi yeh,

Yes, I know you are right. OK, although I think it is too late for me now, I will try to pay attention to what I eat. ;p
