I recently discovered this and I like it so much! What is it?
Chinatown brand spring onion pancakes!
$8.20 for a pack of 25 pieces.
Made in Singapore!
I patriotic or what?
Today, I pan fried 2 pieces for lunch:
Waiting... |
Flipped! Nice! |
To each piece, add 2 tablespoons of baked beans. I like the NTUC Fairprice brand's because it is only 90c a can but it was sold out and I had to settle for Ayam brand's which costs slightly more than $1 a can.
This was piece number 1. |
Tucking in while piece number 2 was still frying in the pan. |
Yummy yum yum and the price of lunch? About $1.10.
Which supermarket did I go to?
NTUC Fairprice, of course.
Oops (Added at 5.45pm):
A friend SMS me and asked me how did I get $1.10? Shouldn't it be $1.00 + $0.66 = $1.66? Er... It is $1.10 because I still have half a can of baked beans left!

Hi yeh,
I leave the serious cooking to my mom and my sis. LOL.
Yup, I know the one you are referring to. My mom makes them but without prawns for me. I don't eat prawns. ;p
I like for her to add capsicum and mushroom to the flour batter too. :D
Hi DC,
Oishi desu! I guarantee it! ;p
Hi Gary,
Cepat! Go try it.
The nice thing about the stuff that I cook is that they are all really easy to do. No fuss. I lazy mah. ;p
Hi E H,
Heinz is nice. LOL.
But I am brand agnostic when it comes to baked beans. ;p
Wah.. Still wants to count the price..... Hahaha
Hi pero,
My friend is so terrible, isn't he? Still want to count price! I also say! -.-"
AK,
You are the nemesis to those who decry Singapore is one the most expensive cities in the world!
Having said that, it's very clear you are eating alone...
Ask that person out.
And readers who know AK personally, ask AK out OK?
Hi SMOL,
Singapore is a very expensive place to live in. There is no doubt about that!
My little hut in the sky costs more than a similar apartment in New York City! Imagine that! Of course, my tiny mass market made in Thailand car costs as much as 3 Mercedes Benz C180 in the USA. -.-"
OK, apart from housing and cars, I think Singapore's cost of living is pretty OK for locals.
I try to keep my needs simple and my wants few. ;p
Hmmm...is companionship a need or a want?
Hi E H,
I am pretty sure that it is subjective. ;p
Hi AK,
How does it taste? looks like Prata with onion
Hi Matthew,
It is very tasty. I like.
