Regular readers know that AK is lazy.
Lazy AK loves to pluck low hanging fruits as they require very little effort to pluck.
Not requiring him to climb high up into the trees to pluck, they are also relatively safe to harvest.
The name of the low hanging fruit here is "CPF".
What is the scientific name?
Too long.
Don't bother.
Told you AK is lazy.
Don't bluff.
I know you are not interested in the scientific name either.
You are more interested in knowing how much low hanging fruit did AK harvest in 2018.
Right or not?
OA interest:
$ 13,087.18
SA interest:
$ 10,198.00
MA interest:
$ 2,162.19
Total interest received:
$ 25,447.37
Thank goodness for low hanging fruits (and vegetables)!
So, do you want to pluck low hanging fruits too?
If AK can do it, so can you!
For those who are able and willing to do so, please remember to do VC to your CPF MA which will also enjoy income tax relief.
See the related post at the end of the blog.
We can do it easily online too:

How to do online contribution?
If your mandatory contributions (from employment) will hit the annual CPF contribution limit ($37,740.00), you may choose to ignore the related post.
To all my readers, here is wishing everyone a

Happy new year AK!
First thing this morning I checked my CPF balances and the interest for 2018 has been deposited!
Thanks to your guidance, I have been working towards building up my CPF SA and my interest gained has increased tremendously!
One step nearer to retirement!
Now still 20k to FRS but I think I can clear it in 2019 😉💪🏼.

A lot of the money in my CPF SA is from the government.

Hello AK,
Chanced upon your blog and i have to say that it has been nothing less than valuable information for me.
I am 26yo and i have little savings now as i have finally cleared off my education loan as of 2018. From my understanding, if i were to start VC now and transferring all my OA to SA, i should be able to achieve the FRS and reach the end game ASAP (Maxed out SA & MA). And thereafter, any interest in excess of FRS would be my source of passive income after age 55. I only need to clarify something before i commit.
Correct me if i am wrong, I was told that and interest earned on VC cannot be withdrawn even after FRS is reached. Therefore it only serves as a base for FRS and for us to achieve the spill-over sooner. But would there be instances where VC + accrued interest will be more than the FRS amount? Which will also mean that the excess interest will serves essentially no purpose since it cannot be withdrawn :/
Hi AK,
Does it mean that if monthly contribution from employer is SGD2,200,
means annually without bonus will be SGD26,400, and if bonus contribution exceeds (37,740-26,400) means we cannot do VC?
Hi Aaron,
It would mean that you will have a bigger annuity at retirement.
Your CPF savings is your money and you will enjoy greater financial security by maxing out your membership benefits. :)

If I had done this, I would have hit Minimum Sum too.
Hi IAALP,
If your annual mandatory contribution (i.e. any contribution from employment) hits the CPF annual contribution limit, don't do voluntary contribution.
If you do it, it will be refunded in the following year.

Hey Aaron,
Just wanna add.
"End game".
I like that phrase.
So Neverwinter. ;p

Yes how true you have inspired many people.
It's always never too late to start!
If didn't start at all will be those crying foul of gov for keeping cpf monies and cannot take out this and that.

Just a few $ away from $10k.
No worries about new 2019 FRS.

For those who complained CPF, look at the interest yearly then complain.

He's Very Lazy. Lol
Hi Laurence,
AK is not very Lazy.
More accurately, AK is very, very lazy. ;p
hi ak...why not put more of your OA into SA to earn even more interest?
Hi Unknown,
Once we have hit the prevailing FRS in our SA, we are not allowed to do OA to SA transfers anymore.
We are not allowed to do top ups to our SA either in such an instance.
