I have told friends that my Aloe Vera plant at home has flowered a few times before and all were incredulous. Do Aloe Vera plants flower? I must admit that I was quite surprised myself when the plant first flowered. Well, it flowered again and I have taken a few photos over a period of 3 days to share here in my blog:

Hi AK,
You must have given it lots of tender loving care with your green fingers (but then the leaves from the pot on the left looks yellowish haha) I read from the below website that they flower when given enough light n care =) keep the the great job

I am not sure if I am very good with plants. I tried my hands at growing some cherry tomatos and they were doing quite well until attacked by white flies and died. :(
I am also not very regular with watering the plants. Hence, the yellow leaves that you observed. ;p

wa, my house also has some aloe vera plants in the garden. But I've never seen them flower. AK so atas ;)

I have no idea what I did to make them flower. My sister actually said that perhaps they are flowering due to neglect and they think they are dying! ;p
LOL at your sister's comment. indeed i do find them pretty and attractive in their own right. while luscious blooms such as the roses and tulips and hibiscus may seem to be on the top of the list for attention grabbing, i have a soft spot for alternatives that exude an understated quiet class (i.e the aloe flower which honestly is the first time that i've seen it!)

Well, I thought my sister could be right. After all, under stress and thinking that it was going to die might induce the plant to flower to perpetuate its kind. ;-p
So, learning from JL that they flower when given enough light and care has given me that extra bit of confidence as a gardener. Haha..
Oops, this reminds me. I have yet to water the plants today. Will do it now. ;)
