What am I having for lunch today?
This is easy to prepare and to bring to work. Easy to wash up too.
This meal is high in fibre and full of natural goodness. Lower in glycaemic index than ground oats, I also prefer raw rolled oats to instant oats which are pre-cooked and dried.
Although instant oats are convenient, just add hot water and they are ready to eat, they are not as chewy, flavourful and nutritious. Anyone in the know would tell you the less processed, the better.
How do we prepare something like this? Remember this? Tea with AK71: A healthy low cost meal.
A healthy lunch that is also gentle on our wallets. I like it.

AK,
Don't see you posting much about eating greens and fruits, the fresh variety.
It's good that you are eating healthier but fresh food is always better.
Have yu started on your taichi lessons ?
Skipper
Hi Skipper,
I had butterhead lettuce with tuna just 2 nights ago. Last night, I had an orange for dinner.
I have started on my yoga classes again. :)
Thanks for encouraging me on a healthier lifestyle. ;)
AK,
Not enough. You should have between 3 to 5 portions of fruits and vegetables a day. Have fruits for breakfast so that you won't miss it later in the day. Butterhead lettuce is mainly water and not so much nutrients but then, it is better than iceberg lettuce. Mixed salad greens are better. The more colourful, the more anti-oxidants. Canned tuna ?
Don't want to sound like I am lecturing you but as we grow older, the food we eat plays an even more important part in our health.

Hi Skipper,
You are scary! Haha.. OK, points noted. ;)
But will not be fully
Hi FoodieFC,
Not fully?

Hi FoodieFC,
What if we double or triple the portion? ;p
Hi Jaime,
Oats with condensed milk? How does it look like? I can imagine the taste. Won't it be too sweet or gooey? How do you prepare it? I am curious. Please share. Thanks. :)
yeah it's supposed to be sweet..
Okie, I will share with you my secret recipe for mood booster. It means you will instantly get happier by just eating it. You've got to try it to know for yourself.
Take a few spoonful of oats, add boiling water, add condensed milk (how much milk depends on how much happy feeling you want, HAHA) and stir. make it as gluey as possible.
and Enjoy. :-)
ps: if you are happy after eating this, you have to tell me.

Hi Jaime,
Wow! Thanks for sharing. It sounds like something that will give you a real sugar high! Hahaha!
On normal days, I probably won't be trying this out as oatmeal is supposed to be a healthy meal for me.
However, if I feel really depressed one day for any reason, I will remember to try this! ;p
no cannot. I don't want you to remember me on your most depressed day. :-)

Hi Jaime,
