Someone told me that my blog takes forever to load. So, being somewhat concerned that this could be the case for more than just one person, I decided to read up on the topic.
I am not a savvy person when it comes to IT but Google makes it easy for people like me. So, why is a fast loading speed important?

Google says "The speed at which your blog loads is critical to attracting more readers to your blog. If your blog takes a long time to load, many readers may leave your blog before they have the chance to read it." This makes sense. We humans are an impatient lot. We want instant gratification!
Next, I used PageSpeed to do a health check for ASSI. Here is the link: PageSpeed.
Click on "Analyse your site online" and enter the blog's URL. Easy.
The analysis will give the blog a score. A higher score indicates little room for improvement. ASSI scored 93 out of 100. Yeah!
However, the PageSpeed Score does not measure the time it takes for a page to load. Oh...
OK, you will love this website I found that will tell you exactly how long it takes for a webpage to load. Here is the link: Stopwatch!
ASSI today took 6.8 seconds to load. That is not too bad, I feel, especially when we take into consideration that I embedded two videos today. Without the videos, the loading speed should be faster.
I think I shall suggest to the complainant to get a faster internet connection. (wink)

The mobile version was enabled as soon as it was available as an option free of charge. For some people on the move and with bigger screens on their mobile phones, I think this could be a good option.
I tried reading my blog on my sister's iPhone and my eyes felt the strain after a minute or two. Hahaha... not for me. :)

normal version loads fine, except if you are still using a dial up modem!
mobile version loads fine too except on blackberry's native browser... always give me blank page. blackberry sucks, so it's not your blog site's fault :)

I was so afraid that I might be required to overhaul my blog! I did a major overhaul once before when my blog was a few weeks old and that took me hours. I did a minor overhaul a few months ago and that took me an hour or so. Lots of work. So, I rather not have to do it again. ;p
A few people also suggested that I should get my own domain name. They listed certain advantages but I don't see the attractiveness of the suggestion. Hmmm...
No issue loading your site. Infact it is fact. I used 'Stopwatch' as provided in your blog and it clock 5.515 seconds.
For ipad, it takes only 1.57 seconds to load the main page (with 3G).
This is fast. :)

Thanks for verifying the loading speeds for my blog! 1.57 seconds sounds fast to me too but I guess it is because you don't see the embedded videos, right? If I am right, it shows that I am learning fast (pun pun). ;p
It only took 2.57 seconds to load the VW page. Watch video with ease. No slack at all.

I was offered free webhosting services with my own domain name. In exchange, I would have to provide a free advertorial and ad space in my blog.
