Recognise these brands?
Or these?
These are brands that belong to QAF Limited.
Today, I was pleasantly surprised to see Cowhead brand's organic rolled oats.
Better still, they were on special offer. S$4.95 for two packets (500 grams each) at NTUC Fairprice.
Pesticides free!
What makes the purchase even more satisfying is that I am a shareholder of QAF Limited (and also NTUC Fairprice).
I like supporting my companies and getting some dividends in the process. Good idea?
------------
Update (18 June 2016):
Money from NTUC Fairprice. Net of deductions, it is a rebate of 3.35% on my purchases. |
This is on top of receiving Link points ($1 spent = 2 pts. Exchange 3,000 points for $20 Fairprice voucher. 1.33% rebate.) and also a 5% cashback from my credit card!
AK will get more free grocery this month!
Like supporting our companies and being paid for it? I am sure we do!

Hi AK,
Well said.."Supporting my companies and getting paid in process"
You should order and build one AHTS from Marco...
opps.. it is too much on capital.. :)
(Joke for the early Sunday Morning)..
Hi Gregg,
Want to form a joint venture and order an AHTS? Charter it out for recurring income? ;p
Hi AK ,
Good idea,we need to.get one Indonesia partner as well need for Indonesia flag.... Haha
Hi AK,
I'm looking some stocks in my watch list and noted that QAF is almost at its 52 weeks low. The yield has improved to above 6% and looks attractive to me. I'm wondering why it seems to be unloved.IS it cos of its poor bakery business and the failed venture overseas?
I wonder at what price would you likely to add more of this to your portfolio?
Hi Cindy,
Strange, isn't it? There is no accounting for Mr. Market's behaviour, really. :)
Looking at the charts, the Fibo golden ratios are at 75c and 72.5c next. These are where we might find some support but in a downtrend, it is hard to say if these supports would hold up.
I see a positive divergence though. So, it could be a good idea to start nibbling. ;p
Dividend keeps growing.
Btw, SCRIPDIVSCHEME is same as DRP?

Hi Ah John,
I believe they are the same thing. Just different names. :)

Do you join the NTUC membership to get the annual rebate?
AK said...
Yes, I have been a NTUC Fairprice shareholder since I was 25. ;p

Hi AK, is the NTUC General Branch membership a worthy "investment"? How much do we need to spend at Fairprice in order to get the rebate of at least $117 (annual membership)?
Do you able to get back at least $117 since you only spend it necessarily?

I think you are referring to a Union membership. I am not a Union member. I am a NTUC Fairprice shareholder. Shareholders don't pay any annual fee. ;p
AK,
how do u be a ntuc fairprice member? i also have ntuc insurance plan. but i dont rmbr having an ntuc card or anything like that.
not sure if its the same thing as NTUC general membership ? (which cost $117. yikes!)
Hi fc,
When I got my NTUC Income policy 20 years ago, I asked to be an NTUC Fairprice shareholder and it was approved. I understand from some readers that this is no longer possible. You have to be a union member first these days.
