I will just stop using FB to update readers, I guess.
No loss to me.
I guess it will inconvenience readers though. 😞

A message from Facebook.

"This post goes against our Community Standards, so no one else can see it."

Facebook has removed ALL the links to my blog.

So, I won't be able to update readers using Facebook anymore.

Readers who have been following me using Facebook will just have to check my blog from time to time for updates.

There are, of course, also other means to follow my blog.

Check my blog's left side bar.

AK is financially free and now he is also Facebook free!

Hi AK,

FB in the midst of removing fake news & terrorist postings.

Must be your headgear (hat, sunglasses, surgical mask).

LOL!

After removing all my links to my blog, Facebook now wants me to spend $14 to promote what? I blur.

"Boost Your Popular Post for $14

"Your post "I cannot post links to my..." is getting more engagement than 95% of your recent posts. Boost it to reach more people in Singapore.

"Boost Post"

Hi AK . Just started following your blog. I was intrigued by the idea to beef up our SA and let the compounding do the rest . Maybe this question had been answered previously but hope you don't mind me asking again : why didn't you put all the money from your oa to your sa in order to gain more from the differential rate ? Is it because you want to have the option to deploy OA money for stocks from time to time ? (Refering to your 2018 cpf balance ) am I right to state that your intention is to beef up to frs and let it do the work ? I am quite keen on trying to hit ERS by the time I reach 55 .. Thank you for your time and energy to update this blog.

Hi silverfyre,

If we have the resources and if we are sure we do not have any other use for money in our OA, beefing the SA to the FRS or as close to the FRS as possible as soon as possible is a good idea.

If we are not sure, it is best not to deplete our OA by transferring everything to the SA since it is a one way street.

The ERS is definitely a good idea if we believe in having a bigger annuity to fund our retirement.

Thanks for the reply . Been reading more of your post and cpf regulations . Finally think i have some handle on what to do now .

Cheers

Hi silverfyre,

I am glad.

All of us have different circumstances and considerations.

It is important to do what makes sense for you.

Gambatte! :)

Hi AK,

On your comment on the transfer of monies from OA to SA. I also had some thoughts on the concern on the possible use of OA as part of my delayed decision to transfer the monies many many years and coupled by my friends'dissaussion on the plan on the transfers. I think that such concerns are unwarranted as per my perspective. I executed the transfers sometimes in Jan 2016 after many many years of delay. I am glad to make that decision in 2016 and lamented for not doing so much much earlier to the extent of the year of 2000 being the earliest. It is much later than no action at all. I resolved to stop the lament as I know that such lament cannot bring the transfers before 2016. What's over cannot be undone. The only way is to look forward and make decision based on the prevailing circumstances.

Hi Ben,

This sounds familiar.

Cpf should make AK the poster boy for the benefit of the majority of cpf members, so that they would know the benefits and how to leverage them.

AK71 said...

Hi ok,

A poster boy wearing a mask and dark goggles? ;p

I agree that too many people are unaware of what a good system the CPF is.

Those who do know might not know how to extract the full benefit of their CPF membership.

New readers might want to read this recent blog:
