I must absolutely share this exchange I had with P on Facebook. Remember P, a reader who asked for my bio? We have become fast chatting buddies and this was a revelation:
For those of you who have heard me either in the podcast or in person or both, did I sound like a smoker and a drinker? I didn't know that I sounded like one.
If you have not heard the podcast yet, there is a link to the interview in related post number 1. Let me know what you think.
I am curious as to whether there is a general consensus that I sounded like a smoker and a drinker. Humour me, please.
Finally, always avoid wealth destruction. Smoking and drinking destroy wealth now and in the future. Do you believe this?

No ar - U dont sound like a smoker (darth vader) & drinker (slurring). IMHO - U sound more like a pessimistic optimist :P
Hi MK,
Thanks for letting me know what smokers and drinkers typically sound like when they talk. ;p
Pessimistic optimist FTW! ;)
Like a chipmunk.
Hi Rebel,
OK, I think I will rank this on the same level as "cute" which was the adjective a reader used on my FB wall. I would rather have preferred "manly" as I think being described as "cute" when I am in my mid-40s is not a compliment. -.-"
People who thinks AK smoke surely didn't read his blog regularly. For someone who finds buying coffee expensive and prefer to make his own coffee, how could it be possible that he is willing to fork out $10+ (sorry I lost touch with the pricing already) for a packet of killer sticks?
Hi AK
What do you think of Keppel DC Reit?
Can nibble for long term keep?
Hi Ray,
You have painted a picture of AK the "giamsiap" fellow very well. Haha... Thanks. ;)
Cigarettes cost $10+ a packet now? Wow! I had no idea. I thought it was $6 a pack or something but, of course, I don't track the prices of cigarettes. This price got stuck in my head because a friend from Japan who visited more than 10 years ago told me about it. :p
Hi imdna,
I think the prospects are generally good but I am not interested at the current price level. I might take a look if unit price were to decline a bit more. ;)
Do you not drink at all? Or do you still drink a little bit like socially or something ?
Because personally I do not like to drink and I see no point in it.. I can drink maybe one or two cans or beer or a glass or two or wine, but I cant go further than that most of the time.
But often my friends will pressure me into saying that one should learn how to drink, etc, because next time you would need to entertain other ppl or clients, etc... I personally don't believe in that though.
What is your opinion regarding this ? Is it ok to not drink at all and still be able to entertain clients, etc and still be a sociable person ?
Hi Janson,
I guess I should really say that I drink but I would choose Coke or orange juice, for examples. LOL. ;p
Very, very rarely, if I were pressured, I would ask for a Screwdriver which is part orange juice, anyway. ;)
I think it really depends on the industry we are in and the culture of the company or country. In Korea, China and Japan, I think alcohol is very much a part of social life. :)
